A Dark Night Before Xmas - Dark MsStress Special installment (2002)

Tis the season!

During the webcomics original run, Dark MsStress had a lot of fun with a few special holiday installments. Each year for 4 years she had taken on Christmas classics Dark MsStress style with satires ranging from 'The Twelve Days of Christmas', to (my personal favorite...) Charlie Brown

'A Dark Night before Xmas' was the first Dark MsStress holiday special installment originally posted in 2002. Even though I'm pretty sure I was using Poser 4 at the time, I think the renderings still hold up today. I like the writing as well...So much so my next machinima comic movie will be based on this classic comic. So keep a look out for the new movie soon. But until then, enjoy the original 'Dark MsStress  - A Dark Night Before Xmas'.

Just Shoot Me - Dark MsStress #6 (August 2002)

Originally uploaded online as the fifth installment of my Dark MsStress series webcomic, 'Just Shoot Me' introduces Art Van Dulaid, a low budget Bob Guccione wannabe. The name of course was a nod to the Seinfeld running gag Art Vandelay which was a made up name George Costanza frequently used on the classic TV show. Art made a 2nd appearance in the final installment of my series.
I also liked the Phat Dick character who appears here as a former wrestler turned porn actor. I never did anything else with him..but who knows...maybe he'll show up in a future machinima episode.

I hope everyone is enjoying the new movies. And thanks to the people who pointed out that the blogs default setting prevented people from posting anonymously. That's fixed now.. So, i'm hoping to hear from you.
The Halloween episode has just hit 1000 views after it's first week online on Youtube. However, still only 2 viewers took the time to comment.

I've also been recently uploading material to my Deviant art page which I'd forgotten I had for the last 4 years or so. Some of which does not appear here on the blog.

Room For One More, Honey...

I just completed the initial filming for my next Dark MsStress Machinima movie, which will be a special Halloween episode.

The film is sort of a response to a recent film by Mako which takes place in a Haunted Mansion. Mako mentioned how much he loved the Disney Haunted Mansion Theme Park attraction, and I reminded him...(...her... Whatever...) that there's a brilliant virtual recreation of the Haunted Mansion in Second Life. So, I responded that I'd make my next Dark MsStress installment at the Haunted Mansion since (s)he'd never seen it.

Looks like the running time will be around 10 minutes, but I still have more editing, foley, and scoring to do... But, it's safe to say that it'll be uploaded to YouTube in time for Trick of Treat.

I'm not really getting the comments here that I'd hoped for considering the amount of updates I've been sharing since starting this blog in august. So, I see things haven't really changed much with my material & feedback since 2004. I've got one more film in the can after this next episode, which could be up before november... and then I'll see where it goes after that.

I'll also post another classic comic and cover soon as well. Stay tuned!

NEW MACHINIMA! Dark MsStress - 'Daisy & Confused' (2013)

The follow up machinima episode to 'Return of the Dark MsStress', 'Daisy & Confused', picks right up where the last episode left off, as the Mistress begins the training of her new slave 'Daisy', and tries to dig some important information out of the former male menace who was terrorizing Empire City.

WARNING: There are some explicit scenes in this episode... (It wouldn't be 'Dark MsStress' with out them...), So, I didn't even attempt to edit a clean version for Youtube, instead uploading the full HD video to Dailymotion. If you have any issues viewing it here.. You may need to turn off their safety feature.

Let me know if you have any issues... because, if this works out I may forego future Dark MsStress uploads to YouTube. I worked hard making the Return of the Dark MsStress completely original right down to the score, so no one could make one of YouTube's copyright claims... and you know what...?? They STILL claimed use of 3rd party license that is total BULLSHIT, and placed an ad to some artist I've never heard of on my video.

They rejected my claim that all of my content was my own original material, and made it so I can't appeal my claim for another month. This is unacceptable, because now we're talking about someone else using MY copywritten material to make money off of a link to their Amazon page.
So screw Youtube!

Now this is important...

I've said it before, but if you watch and like what i'm doing with these movies (or anything else that I'm posting here on this blog...) and want more.. You MUST give feedback! Because right now THIS is the only place you will see this. I'll share links to this page from the other groups that have been supportive, and have lead traffic here. But if i'm going to continue doing these, I really want to hear from you. Don't take my efforts for granted.

Peace & Love

Dark MsStress - 'The Ani-MsStress' (2003)

I was following a thread over at the TG Comics forum regarding 'too much Poser art' and not enough traditional 'hand drawn art'.

While I do agree Poser graphics are a bit overused in this genre, and seeing whatever the current DAZ models of 'Mike & Victoria' all over the place does make a lot of artists contributions look the same.
The issue with a few artists seemed to be about rendering in poser takes less time than free hand drawing. I haven't rendered in Poser in years... But, I do remember leaving poser running overnight to render complicated scenes when I was working on the Dark MsStress comic.

Perhaps the latest versions of poser and DAZ render faster now than when I was using them but, I've been drawing pretty much since the age of 4. I have a degree in comic art & illustration, and for me personally... I could draw a page by hand (pencils & inks) in half the time it would take me to render all the panels in poser.

Dark MsStress was always an experimental project for me. Not only did I learn 3D art while creating it... A few times I went back and did illustrated installments, utilizing various styles and giving nods to favorite influences just for fun, and to keep things interesting. I remember my readers reactions, a few telling me they liked the drawn art better than my 3D graphics... and yea! They should!... I've been doing it longer, and that's what I've done professionally since before graduating art school.

Now with the machinima, Dark MsStress has yet another form of media to represent her story...
And that's really the key.. 'Story'.
It really doesn't matter what medium an artist chooses to tell a story... as long as the story is clear, and engages the viewer.

I would suggest that more artists (not only in the TGTF community) experiment with other mediums & styles to broaden their range. I'm a storyteller, so even if you took my computers away from me... I can still produce something with a pencil and a pad.

We're living in a great age... So many options... I can draw on my ipad with my finger with some incredible apps.

With that said.... Here's a fun 2 page hand drawn Dark MsStress special I did back in 2003 called 'The Ani-MsStress' which was a nod to some of the Anime, & Manga styles that influenced The Matrix.
I remember doing this very quickly, and assembling the sketches into panels in photoshop.

Training Day - Dark MsStress #5 (July 2002)

Originally posted July 2002, here is the next 3 page installment of the original Dark MsStress webcomic series. Here the Mistress begins the training of her new girls, the former gang members she had encountered in the subway.

Question: How many of you have these pages already? If you do,... did you save them from the original site back in the day, or did you upload them from another source..like megaupload?
How many are seeing them for the first time?

Talk back! I don't want this to be another 'Zero Feedback, No Comment' Blogger page.
More interaction will result in more frequent updates, & new material.

Happy Weekend!

Getting some business done while doing some housework over the weekend...

We're busy shooting the next Dark MsStress machinima. The filming is pretty much done. Now we need to add the foley (Sound effects) and music score. Creating content in Second Life is much faster than Poser renderings. So keep checking in for updates. I still want to hear from you. Do you like the exclusive graphics I'm posting to the blog? Keep those 'likes' coming in... Welcome to the new followers. Feel free to ask me questions, or let me know what's on your mind. Maybe I'll upload one of the old comic installments over the weekend. Hope to hear from you all soon!

The Dark Mistress - Part 2 (Pages 4-6) 2002

Here are pages 4-6 of 'The Dark Mistress', originally posted in June 2002. Continuing the subway encounter.
Even with no dialogue, you can see how closely the 2009 machinima followed the original material.

Dark MsStress - The Machinima (2009)

Once I had seen that it was possible for me to put together an animated sequence using second life, I went back to an old favorite.
With the aid of some Dark MsStress friends, and fans with avatars in second life, I recreated the subway scene from Dark MsStress #3-4. It was pretty much the same as directing a real movie… working out camera angles, telling the other avatars actors where to position themselves, and editing the video clips in iMovie.
It was a lot of work,… and no where near perfect. But, again… It was the next step in seeing Dark MsStress come to life.

Dark MsStress - A Second Life

By the time 2006 rolled around I had grown tired of producing the comix, which  although were being viewed by thousands monthly,… was getting me very little reader feedback with the exception of a few loyal supporters. The TG TF community consisted largely of closeted individuals who were too afraid to post in my fan groups even anonymously. My readers didn't seem to understand the importance of fan feedback to someone who creates content for free on a monthly basis… So I packed away the Poser files and moved on.

Second Life is a virtual 3D world where 3D environments are inhabited by user avatars. Although not as great as poser graphics at the time,… I did find it fascinating, and created an avatar for myself based on my Dark MsStress character.
Eventually, I played around with the idea of trying to create some comics using the Second Life engine, but that proved to be more difficult than i'd anticipated, and almost impossible to do without the help of other peoples avatars. So, I dropped that.

In 2009, When I'd finally gotten a computer that was capable of handling the graphics required for recording Second Life, I began to play around with the idea of 'machinima' (…movies using game graphic engines such as 'The Sims, Grand Theft Auto… Second Life…)

This Dark MsStress trailer was one of my first attempts at machinima. You can see the choppy frame rate I was getting from the graphically intense second life at the time, but it was cool to actually see an animated version of Dark MsStress running around.

Birth of a MsStress - 'The Dark Mistress' (Pages 1-3) 2002

I decided to continue the concept and turn the story into a series. Kick ass chicks were what was happening in movies and TV at the time… Dark Angel, Alias, Terminator 3 were amonst my favorites.
So, I developed the lead character of my story as a vigilante Dominatrix who uses her 'Synthetic Estrogen' drug to defend herself against ruthless males (...and sometimes not so ruthless....) who got in her way. She was by no means a 'Super Hero'... More of an excuse for me to find a way to do more transformations... But, differently than what other artists had been doing, which tended to be more light & fluffy,...or quicky one shots. but as I developed the story every month, I started going further into a back story that started to explain who Donna Simmons was, and her motivation.

This Subway scene from Dark MsStress #3 'The Dark Mistress' is a favorite of mine, influenced by Charles Bronson in the classic 70's film, 'Death Wish'

Dark MsStress (2001) - The 'Her'story

Dark MsStress was originally a series of adult web comix that I had created in 2001.
The idea of the series was to combine & explore a variety of fetishes, satire which included Male to Female transformations, Breast Expansions, Mind Control, Hermaphodites, BDSM.. etc.. using 3D Poser art. I was one of the first in a growing community of TG TF artists.

Dark MsStress was updated monthly with 3 or 4 pages (with occasional special 5 page installments…)
I discontinued the series in 2004, but have continued to develop my storytelling skills over the years with other mediums such as machinima for more mainstream viewers.

14 years have passed since the original postings of Dark MsStress. Several more talented fetish artists have continued the TG TF genre, and have found dedicated followers in mediums we didn't have in 2004 such as youtube. (A few of the old ones are still around too...), but to my surprise quite a few people remember 'Dark MsStress'.
So, although I really have no plans to regularly create this content, I do still want to share a few projects that I enjoy creating, and I think some people might enjoy as well.
But first… Let's take a look back at the beginning...

' Reconstruction' (2001) a 3 page precursor to the Dark MsStress series which was an experiment in Poser 4 art & Photo manipulation in Photoshop.
